FOUNDER
& CHEF
Chef Samantha Hsin-Lien Chen was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, currently based in Paris, France.
Growing up with home-cooked meals from her family, she developed a strong bond with Taiwanese cuisine. While studying and living abroad, she misses most freshly cooked authentic Taiwanese meals.
She often felt trouble finding authentic Taiwanese food or products in the cities she lived in, whereas other cuisines or products from other Asian countries were easily seen and found. She began to learn how to make Taiwanese food from her family and by herself, she's also professionally trained in Taiwan.
Chef Sam believes that Taiwanese cuisine and culture embrace the best parts of Asian countries due to Taiwan's unique position, resources, and history. Taiwanese cuisine offers inclusiveness, diversity, creativity, and most importantly it's delicious and healthy for everyone.
She is passionate and dedicated to sharing the cuisine and culture of Taiwan through BANDO.
